Simple 2 Bean & Rice Pomegranate Dish Recipe

Eggs are a high cholesterol food for Parrots. They should only eat eggs once every 21 days. African Grey parrots should never eat eggs. Dairy is not digestible by Parrots. We occasionally sprinkle a little cheese on top and feed to our new rescues that are not used to eating cooked food. You can leave the cheese out on all these recipes. 1 serving = 1 Parrot
Ingredients:
- Organic dark red kidney beans
- Fresh organic broccoli tops
- Frozen vegetable mix
- Lima beans
- Red delicious apples, diced
- Organic bananas, sliced
- Oranges, peeled and diced
- Green grapes, organic
- Blueberries, organic
- Peach chunks can
Preparation of Dish:
(Portion size is for two medium sized parrots)
*Recommended to prepare for 3 servings keep refrigerated in Tupperware or Ziploc bag)
- Dice one cup of the organic tops of the broccoli. (Add ¼ slices of stock of broccoli for filler if you desire) Set aside
- Prepare to boil water with no salt, 1 ½ cups of water, per cup of broccoli
- Boil ½ cup of frozen Lima beans, per 2 cups of frozen veggies. Boil the Lima beans in a separate stainless steel pot. Turn off after the beans have boiled, let sit for 1 min. Rinse
- Boil water in a stainless steel pan. First blanch the broccoli and turn off . Add the Frozen Lima beans
- After broccoli has been blanched in boiling water for 2 mins, turn off water, and add 2 cups of frozen veggies
- In the large stainless steel pot with boiled water, add in your frozen veggies and turn off
- After the Lima beans and broccoli have thawed, rinse them and add them into the pot with the frozen veggies
- Strain the can of organic dark red kidney beans with a strainer. Rinse well, and add to vegetables, broccoli and Lima beans
